Q&A
Hello, and thank you for your questions and concerns about the name change. I have been chachi ever since I could remember and I felt it was a very necessary and an important business decision to create myself from scratch to create and establish a more definitive image for myself in this business and embrace my latin heritage. I have been inspired by many artists the biggest being marilyn monroe who early in her career, actually before it even started, changed her name as well.
How did you come up with Lola L'amour?
It is no secret I have a deep and great admiration for Old Hollywood. I am in love with all that was the 50's golden glamour age, and the 30's/40's age of the silver screen. I am a even bigger fan of the glamourous and sensual women who ruled the screen durring those times. Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Lamour, and Ava Gardner just to name a few. I am
also deeply in love with the allure of Paris, France. I actually named my pet Paris, after the romantic city. I am deeply in love with the thought of romance in such a elegant lovely city. That is where L'amour came into the picture, it means love in french, I've been told I look like Dorothy Lamour - so I thought it was perfect.Lola is actually the name of a beloved aunt of mine, so I decided Lola was a great name to pay tribute to her and my latin roots. It will also be easier for people to establish that I am a latina, where the nickname chachi has so long caused confusion because of my multiethnical look.

L'amour meets Leslie

I arrive in San Francisco 11:37 pm to meet a very important man. My cousin and I are huge fans of this inspirational multi-talented super producer... I mean who else could it be... It's none other than the talented Ryan Leslie! So as we walk up to Scala's in downtown San Francisco, we approach the door and a high spirited - all smiles - mister Leslie walks out with a party of four; two of his best buddies and two other fans who came to see him as well. I said "Ryan," and he replies, "You came!" almost as if he'd been expecting us, he's just so adorable. I meet his crew, his cameraman, and gave him a great big hug, well maybe like 3. We talked for a while outside under the big city buildings and bright city lights. He is really an artist to the people. Better said, he is "The People's Artist," I just adore him for that. And I am sure in the short weeks to come with the release of his album he will just become greater! We are all very excited for Ryan, my cousin and I will be the first to buy Ryan's album on the 10th on itunes! Please make sure you check out RyanLeslieTV or RyanLeslie.com and be a part of his movement. Also don't forget to buy his album February 10th - just in time for valentines day, It would make a great gift for someone special!
Much Love for Ryan and his crew!
